A small courtyard garden
We were asked to transform a small shady courtyard garden which had been laid entirely with Yorkstone paving for low maintenance – which had also created low interest.
Respecting the Georgian character of the house we removed areas of Yorkstone and created a series of spaces to sit, relax or dine in. With planting beds slightly offset drawing the eye across the diagonal of the space, we were able to make the garden feel longer and more interesting. We used seasonal and evergreen planting to ensure the entire garden was no longer immediately visible.
