A terraced garden design

We were invited to transform an unused, sloping back garden with views to the North Sea into a contemporary terraced garden.

The garden was re-contoured and two retaining walls were built to create three separate flat areas. By the house a wide terrace picks up the morning sun, steps lead down to a gravel garden before the lowest level which includes a lawn, an evening seating and dining patio and a bubbling water-feature. The planting and gravel pick up on the garden’s coastal location to create a modern space that sits comfortably within its location.
