An outdoor room

 

We were tasked with creating an outdoor space for dining and entertaining within a small garden. Working with the narrow space available we created a layering of both patio and ebullient planting within the broader garden.
The modernist feeling of the geometric blocks which made up the terrace and its associated steps were softened by surrounding the space with planting for a long season of interest. The design also incorporated a self-contained water feature and a parasol for when the sun shines.
