Tatton Park Show garden
“A Place To Ponder” took its inspiration from a simple idea – that a garden should be somewhere that provides a sense of calm in a space to enjoy. Mixing both traditional and more modern materials, alongside a planting palette from formal yew topiary, to traditional hydrangeas and roses, to more contemporarily used perennials, the garden was intended to appeal to the part in all of us that appreciates the new and yet finds pleasure in the things we remember from our past.
The garden demonstrated how a forgotten corner can be transformed to a desirable destination, and the design showed how a relatively light touch, and simple use of materials, can work with structurally diverse planting to create a pocket haven.
